2. Scope
This notice applies to the information website at scanityhealth.com, including www.scanityhealth.com. It describes the current arrangements before the product launch.
This website currently has no customer accounts, checkout or sign-up form for a newsletter or waiting list. The waiting-list buttons only open an information notice. No registration details are collected through them.
The website does not receive measurements or health data from a ring or an app. The product information and example screens shown here do not involve data processing by an already connected ScanityHealth app. Separate privacy notices will be provided as required for future app, shop or registration services.
3. Website & hosting
We use Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, USA, to serve the website through a globally distributed content delivery network.
When you access the website, technically necessary connection and access data is processed. This includes, in particular, your IP address, the date and time, the page or file requested, technical details about your browser and operating system, the response status and, where your browser provides it, the page you visited previously. This data may be recorded in server logs.
The purposes of this processing are to deliver content, maintain stability and security, and detect and resolve technical errors and abusive access. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legitimate interest is to operate this information website securely and reliably. The website cannot be delivered without the technically necessary transmission of connection data.
Automatic language routing
When you visit the general home address, Netlify infers the approximate country of access from the IP address. Visits from Germany, Austria and Switzerland are directed to the German version at /de/. All other visits, including those for which no country can be determined, are directed to the English version at /en/. Netlify performs this routing; no additional location service is integrated, and no GPS or device location permission is requested.
This serves our legitimate interest in offering a language version likely to be appropriate for visitors (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can switch languages at any time using the “DE” and “EN” links. These links lead directly to the respective language URLs; your choice is not stored in a preference cookie.
Recipients and international processing
Netlify and the subprocessors it uses to provide its services may process access data. This may involve processing outside the EU or the European Economic Area, particularly in the USA.
Netlify states that it participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. For transfers covered by that framework, Netlify provides for reliance on this adequacy framework under Article 45 GDPR. For other covered transfers to third countries, its published terms include EU Standard Contractual Clauses as safeguards under Article 46 GDPR.
You can find information about these safeguards in Netlify’s Data Processing Agreement (PDF). Netlify’s privacy statement provides further information and contact details. You can also request a copy of the applicable safeguards using our contact details above.
4. Cookies & embedded services
This website’s code does not set cookies or save information in your browser’s local storage or session storage. No analytics or marketing services, advertising pixels, social media plug-ins, external video players or maps are embedded in the browser.
Images and styling files are delivered with the website through Netlify. The fonts used are system fonts; no font files are loaded from an external font provider.
Links to other websites connect to the relevant provider only when you open them. Processing on those external websites is governed by their own privacy notices.
5. Contacting us
If you contact us by email, phone or post, we process the contact details you provide, the content of your enquiry and the related correspondence to respond to you. This information may be accessible to the people handling your enquiry and to the communication and IT service providers used for this purpose.
If your enquiry concerns a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other enquiries, we rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our interest in handling incoming enquiries appropriately.
Contacting us is voluntary. Without a way to contact you and the information needed to handle your enquiry, we may be unable to respond.
6. Data retention
Retention periods depend on the purpose of the processing and any applicable legal obligations. Technical access data is processed to provide hosting, analyse errors and keep hosting operations secure. The retention period depends on the type of logs and the time required for these purposes. Where a specific security incident occurs, further retention may be necessary to investigate it and preserve evidence.
Enquiries and correspondence are deleted when the matter has been fully resolved and further retention is no longer necessary. Where statutory retention obligations apply or documents are needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, further retention depends on those obligations or the continuing need. Retention required by law is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
7. Your rights
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you have the following rights in particular:
- Access to information about the processing of your personal data (Article 15 GDPR).
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Article 16 GDPR).
- Erasure of your data (Article 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR).
- Data portability, where processing is automated and based on consent or a contract (Article 20 GDPR).
- Withdrawal of consent at any time for future processing, where processing is based on consent. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn (Article 7(3) GDPR).
Your right to object
You may object at any time to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR). We will then stop processing the data concerned unless overriding compelling legitimate grounds apply or the processing is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Complaints to a supervisory authority
Under Article 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the country of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement. The Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA) is responsible for private companies based in Bavaria.
This website does not use decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects, including profiling of that kind.
8. Changes
We will update this notice if the website’s features or processing activities change. The current version is available through the privacy link on the website.
